Privacy policy

You do not need to register, sign in or provide any details to read anything on the site. There is no login and no user profile.

Your language choice (Swedish or English) and your usage-analytics choice are stored locally in your browser so the site remembers them. Your answers in the party quiz live in the address bar so a result can be shared or reloaded, and are not stored by us.

The site sets no marketing or advertising cookies, and shares no data with ad networks.

If you consent, we use EU-hosted PostHog to understand which pages are used and improve the site. We measure page views, page leaves, page performance, language changes and clicks on selected source links. Neither the source link nor its label is sent. The figures cover only visitors who consent, so they do not represent all visits.

We send the page path and technical details such as browser and device type, but not URL query strings or fragments. Where available, we also record a broad category for the search service that led here, such as Google or ChatGPT, without the search query or full referring address. PostHog creates an identifier saved in your browser's local storage.

We do not record quiz answers, quiz results, party preferences, search text or other free text. We do not use user profiles, session recordings or automatic click capture. Withdrawing your choice stops future collection; it does not automatically delete data already sent.

As on any website, the hosting environment records technical request data such as IP address, time and which page was fetched. It is used only for operation, security and troubleshooting, never for profiling.

When you use Maktkartan's plugin, the service receives the search terms and filters sent by ChatGPT, Codex or another MCP client. Send only the factual question you want to look up, not private quiz answers, personal political views or other sensitive information. The tools read public information and require no Maktkartan account.

The plugin code does not store query text, tool arguments or responses in a database or usage analytics. Its fixed operational log contains only the tool name, request type, outcome and duration, and is sent to the hosting log service. Hosting, CDN and logging service providers process technical request data to operate, protect and troubleshoot the service.

Public responses are cached in server memory and may be reused for up to one minute; search queries are not cached. IP-based counters use a one-minute window to limit load without creating a user profile. Expired memory entries may remain until a later request clears or overwrites them, or the server instance ends. This is not a promise of physical deletion after one minute.

ChatGPT or another MCP client sends your search terms and filters to Maktkartan and receives public results. That client's own terms and privacy policy apply to your conversation there. Hosting-provider logs follow the provider's documented retention criteria; Maktkartan has not verified a fixed, account-specific retention period and therefore does not state one. Read Lovable's data processing agreement for more information about those criteria.

The information on the site comes from official and public sources, including regeringen.se, data.riksdagen.se, Statistics Sweden, Kolada and the municipalities' own websites. When you click a source link you leave the Power Map and the receiving site's own terms apply. Some pages show images and feeds fetched directly from the source.

The Power Map has no accounts or user profiles. If you have enabled usage analytics, you can withdraw your choice above. Contact us if you have questions about access to, deletion of or retention of data, or believe an entry about an elected representative is shown incorrectly.
